In a deeply personal revelation, actress Gal Gadot opened up about a life-threatening health scare she faced during the eighth month of her most recent pregnancy. The Wonder Woman star took to Instagram to share her story, hoping to raise awareness about a rare but serious condition that could affect pregnant women.
Gal Gadot’s Emergency Surgery for a Brain Blood Clot
Earlier this year, in February, Gal Gadot was diagnosed with a massive blood clot in her brain during her eighth month of pregnancy. She recounted enduring weeks of debilitating headaches that confined her to bed.
“For weeks, I suffered excruciating headaches,” Gadot wrote. “An MRI finally revealed the terrifying truth: a massive blood clot in my brain. In that instant, my family and I were reminded of life’s fragility. Everything changed so quickly, and all I wanted was to survive and live for my family.”
The actress described the chaotic moments that followed the diagnosis. She was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery. During this period of immense uncertainty and fear, her daughter, Ori, was born. Gadot shared the meaning behind her daughter’s name, which translates to “my light.” She explained, “Before the surgery, I told my husband, Jaron, that our daughter would be the light at the end of this tunnel.”
Gratitude and Recovery
Gadot gave birth to Ori, her fourth daughter with husband Jaron Varsano, in early March. In her post, she expressed immense gratitude to the medical staff at Cedars-Sinai Hospital for their care and expertise. She also shared that she has since fully recovered from the ordeal.
“I am filled with gratitude for the life I’ve been given back,” she said, emphasizing how this experience has changed her perspective on life and health.
Raising Awareness About Cerebral Venous Thrombosis (CVT)
By sharing her story, Gadot hopes to shed light on the importance of listening to one’s body and raising awareness about Cerebral Venous Thrombosis (CVT), a rare condition that affects 3 in 100,000 pregnant women in their 30s and older.
“The journey has taught me so much,” she shared. “First, it’s vital to listen to our bodies and trust what they’re telling us. Pain, discomfort, or subtle changes often carry deeper meanings, and being attuned to these signals can save lives.”
Gadot emphasized the importance of early detection. “While CVT is rare, knowing it exists is the first step to addressing it. Awareness matters, and early identification makes it treatable. Sharing this is not to scare anyone but to empower people to take action for their health.”
A Message of Hope and Empowerment
Gal Gadot’s story is a testament to resilience and the power of awareness. By pulling back the curtain on the often-hidden struggles behind curated social media moments, she hopes to inspire others to prioritize their health and listen to their bodies.
Her message resonates with hope and empowerment: “If even one person takes action for their health because of my story, it will have been worth sharing.”
